The draw for the FAI Ford Cup semi-finals took place tonight on the MNS programme on RTE Two. The draw was made by Tony Fitzgerald, Vice President of the Football Association of Ireland and Pete Mahon who led St Francis to the final in 1990.

The pairings drawn were:

Derry City v Shelbourne

Dundalk v St Patrick's Athletic

The semi-finals will take place on Sunday, October 7 and both will be televised live on RTE Two. One game will be at 1.45pm and the other at 3.55pm. The exact arrangements will be finalised later.

St Patrick's Athletic booked their place in the last four this evening when they beat Drogheda United on penalties after the sides finished level at 1-1 following extra-time.

The final takes place on Sunday, November 4 at 3.30pm in the Aviva Stadium.
