EA Sports Cup final details confirmed
The 2012 EA SPORTS Cup Final between Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United will take place on Saturday, September 22 at Tallaght Stadium with a kick-off time of 5.45 pm.
Rovers secured their place in the showdown by defeating Limerick on Bank Holiday Monday while Drogheda powered past Sligo Rovers on the same day in their semi-final.
The match will be televised live by Setanta Sports. In the event of the scores being level after 90 minutes of play, then extra-time of 30 minutes duration will be played, followed by a penalty shoot-out, if required to determine the winners.
The venue was confirmed after mutual agreement with both clubs. The prize money for winning the EA SPORTS Cup has increased this season with €12,500 going to the winning club and €7,500 to the runners-up.
Ticket arrangements to be confirmed in due course.
As a result of Shamrock Rovers progressing to the final, their Airtricity League Premier Division fixture away to St Patrick's Athletic scheduled for Friday, September 21, will now take place on Tuesday, September 25.
