The very worthy winners of the Aviva Club of the Year for 2012 were Midleton FC from Cork.

Commenting on behalf of the club, Mick Kirby, “Being selected as the Aviva Club of the Month for March has given our club a great sense of pride and achievement. It’s a proud day for all connected with the club, players, coaches, managers, committee members and our loyal supporters. It’s a fantastic award and an official recognition for all the voluntary work by so many people over the years and very fitting at this time as next season we will be celebrating 40 years in football. The whole community of Midleton and East Cork are delighted with the news.

Mark Russell – Group Sponsorship Manager – “Aviva are very proud to be involved in the Club of the Month programme in conjunction with the FAI. The Aviva Stadium might grab most of the headlines, but grassroots programmes like Aviva Club of the Month are the heart and soul of our Sponsorship and give us the opportunity to meet and give recognition to all the unsung heroes from local soccer clubs in their communities. Midleton FC has set the benchmark on how to run a successful club on and off the pitch are very worthy winners of the Aviva Club of the Year for 2012”.
