Saints want to keep European adventure moving

Another epic week awaits St. Patrick's Athletic as their European odyssey sees them host Bundesliga giants Hannover 96 on Thursday (7.45).

The first leg of the third qualifying tie was secured after the Saints saw off NK Å iroki Brijeg last Thursday in extra-time at Inchicore.

Progress on the pitch caused a change of home venue, as Tallaght Stadium meets the UEFA criteria required for this round, and Liam Buckley's side are happy to make the short trip.

The Airtricity League club racked up an impressive 11-match unbeaten run at Richmond Park over recent season and they'll be aiming to transport that form for Thursday.

Advancing to this stage meant Sunday's league fixture against Sligo Rovers was postponed, allowing Buckley and his squad a clear run at the Europa League assignment.

"This will be a difficult tie for us but there's no fear amongst the group," admitted Buckley. "It's well known at this stage that we like to play a passing game and that should make Thursday's tie against a good German side a decent spectacle for the big support which we hope comes along."
