Rovers aim for UEFA progress
If claiming a clean sheet at home leg in the first leg of European competition was the aim, then Shamrock Rovers will want to finish the job in Lithuania tonight.
Last week's scoreless draw against FK Ekranas in the Champions League resulted in much frustration for a Hoops side dominant for large parts in terms of possession and scoring chances.
This game in Panevežys, KO 6pm, is all the more important now that the carat of a third-round tie against Belgian outfit Anderlecht is on the line.
Rovers may be finding wins hard to come by lately yet they'll possess enough firepower to be a threat tonight.
Captain Ken Oman will need to pass a fitness test to prove he's overcome a dead leg. Stephen Rice is also a doubt but Stephen O'Donnell was ruled out with a knee injury and didn't make the trip.
